Sixteen-year-old Eliana has little control over her life and when she illegally switches bodies with her dying mother, she is sent to a prison "resort" that capitalizes on her beauty. Desperate to escape and reunite with her family, Eliana teams up with Theo Jacobson, an annoyingly quiet and smug government official. But the more time she spends with Theo, the more she wonders if he might not be that bad after all. And the more Eliana gets to know Theo, the more she questions everything she once thought she understood. Eliana always believed that nothing could be more important than freedom, but when freedom finally comes her way she is not so sure anymore.
